What to Expect?

Many people are surprised when they learn that most of the transplanted hair shafts fall out within the first month after surgery. It is normal and you shouldn’t be alarmed. The follicles remain and are just going through transplant shock. The hair resumes growth over the next several months and grows at the rate of 1/2 to 1 inch per month. Sometimes it takes 7 to 9 months for all of the hairs to start growing. I’m actually expecting to look very similar to my pre-transplant appearance for a while until the hair begs to come back. I’ll be posting so we can see how it goes.
