What is Xeomin?
Xeomin® is a type of neuromodulator or botulinum toxin injectable that temporarily minimizes the appearance of mild to moderate facial wrinkles. This FDA-approved injectable is made with a highly purified form of botulinum toxin type A and contains no added proteins, making it a safe and effective treatment for patients wanting to treat early signs of aging.
Good candidates for Xeomin are healthy adults without neuromuscular conditions or a history of allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in Xeomin. Those who are pregnant or have an active skin infection must wait to receive treatment.

How Xeomin Works
Botulinum toxin products like Xeomin temporarily block the nerve signals to targeted facial muscles. This reduces muscle activity and prevents them from contracting, which causes the development of dynamic wrinkles on the skin. Injections will be carefully placed by one of our expert physicians so that the surrounding muscles are not affected. This allows you to maintain natural facial expressions and movement.
Treatment Areas
Xeomin is primarily used to treat upper facial lines like crow’s feet around the eyes, glabellar lines (frown lines) between the eyebrows, and horizontal forehead lines. Xeomin Procedure
Xeomin injections are minimally invasive and can be performed in the comfort of our office in Bethesda, MD. After assessing the areas to be treated, your provider will hygienically cleanse your skin and use a fine needle to inject Xeomin into targeted muscles. The procedure causes only mild discomfort and is typically completed within fifteen to thirty minutes. There is no need for anesthesia or significant downtime, so you can return to most of your daily activities right after your appointment.
Xeomin Recovery
There is minimal downtime after Xeomin treatment. Mild redness, swelling, and bruising around the injection sites may occur, but these effects typically resolve within a few days. Patients can use cold compresses and anti-inflammatory medication to minimize these effects. For best results, patients should avoid rubbing the treated area and refrain from strenuous exercise for 1-2 days.
Results from Xeomin
Xeomin results will start to develop a few days after your treatment, with the full effect visible after one week. Patients will see smoother skin free of forehead wrinkles, allowing them to enjoy a naturally youthful look. These results typically last 3-4 months and can be maintained with regular appointments.
