Radiofrequency microneedling is an excellent cosmetic option for many patients who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their skin, whether they are concerned with aging signs or issues like acne scars.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a radiofrequency microneedling technology. This means that it uses a combination of ultrafine needles to create microinjuries and radiofrequency energy to treat signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines, or sagging by stimulating new collagen production. Morpheus8 is a completely nonsurgical procedure.

What Can Morpheus8 Treat?
- Wrinkles
- Fine lines
- Mild to moderate sagging and folds
Morpheus8 is primarily used to treat aging signs, such as those listed above. It can also be useful for unwanted pigmentation or scarring, such as acne scars. Unlike other resurfacing options, Morpheus8 is safe for any skin type or tone.
More severe wrinkles or folds may be more effectively treated using a surgery such as a facelift. During a consultation, your plastic surgeon can explain whether a surgical or non-surgical procedure will be your best option to achieve your ideal results.
Morpheus8 RF microneedling can be useful for patients of all skin types and skin tones. At Cosmetic Surgery Associates, we are proud to offer this versatile, non-surgical treatment option to our patients.
How Does Morpheus8 Work?
Morpheus8 uses microneedles and fractional radiofrequency energy to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulates the body’s natural healing response.
This results in increased collagen production and new cell growth to create a more youthful look with improved elasticity and an overall smoother and more even appearance. The Morpheus8 device is also designed to reach 8mm below the skin’s surface, meaning that it can affect deeper layers of the skin than other RF microneedling options for more effective results.
What to Expect with Morpheus8
Morpheus8 treatment can be completed with local anesthesia or a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The handpiece, which contains microneedles, will be placed on the treatment area so it can deliver radiofrequency energy to the skin. The process can often be completed in as little as 15 minutes. Most patients will require about three treatment sessions to reach their ideal results from Morpheus8. However, some patients can achieve great results with just one Morpheus8 treatment; your nurse specialist will explain a treatment plan for you after a consultation. If you choose, the treatment can be combined with other anti-aging options to enhance your results.
You will begin to see improvements in your skin within just a few days, but results will continue to develop as the skin produces new, natural collagen.
After Morpheus8 Treatment
Morpheus8 does not require downtime, but you will experience some side effects as the skin heals. Redness and irritation typically last about a week after the treatment. You should wait several days before applying makeup on the treated area and take care to avoid sun exposure as your skin heals. It is also important to keep the skin well-moisturized throughout the healing process. Most patients see their best results about three months after their final treatment session.
