Breast augmentation is a common cosmetic procedure that helps women enhance their breasts. Aging, genetics, breast feeding and massive weight loss lead to several undesirable changes in women in Washington DC. Your breasts may have lost their volume, youthful contours or show visible asymmetry. Once our team has evaluated your changes, we will personalize the breast augmentation procedure with implants to help you regain their youthful size and contours.
If you are dissatisfied with the changes in your breasts, you will benefit from the augmentation procedure which helps you achieve the contours you always desired. If you have genetically asymmetrical or small breasts, you can choose augmentation. Women who have experienced changes in the size and shape after childbirth or massive weight loss are also good candidates for the procedure. Like any other surgical procedure, you must be in good physical and emotional health to qualify for the augmentation procedure. You must also have fully developed breasts. A desirable breast contour will also help you restore your self confidence.
The breast augmentation procedure offered by Cosmetic Surgery Associates is a personalized procedure that is customized to suit the changes in your breasts. During your consultation, you must discuss your desired results with us and we will discuss all your options with you. There are many choices you have to make like choosing the kind of implants to be used for your augmentation, the size, their placement and the incisions. So that you can make these decisions easily, we offer our patients the revolutionary Crisalix consultation that allows you to see your future results, even while you are at home. This allows you to choose the most suitable shape, size and projection so that you can make the best choice.
Once you have made all your choices, the surgeon will begin your procedure with an anesthesia before the incisions are made. Your surgeon uses his skill to make the incisions in well concealed areas so that the scars remain invisible. The implants are then placed either over your pectoral muscle or under it. After the positioning of your implants, the incisions are closed.
What will your recovery be like?
It is imperative that you follow your surgeon’s aftercare instructions well since it is important to let your body heal well. After your augmentation procedure, you must take at least a week off work. You will be given prescription medicines to manage any pain or discomfort while you recover. There may be some redness and swelling that gets better as you continue to heal. It is important that you do not bend, lift anything or engage in strenuous exercises during this time. Your surgeon will check your healing during follow up appointments and let you know when you begin exercising.
Washington DC is the capital of the United States and was formally the District of Columbia. Founded after the American Revolution as the seat of government of the newly independent country, Washington was named after George Washington, the first President of the United States and Founding Father. The architecture varies greatly and 6 of the top 10 buildings in the American Institute of Architects’ 2007 ranking of “America’s Favorite Architecture” are in Washington DC. These include the White House, the Washington National Cathedral, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the United States Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The neoclassical, Georgian, gothic and modern architectural styles are all reflected among these structures and other prominent edifices throughout Washington. Other than experiencing the architecture, visitors can also enjoy other attractions including the Smithsonian Institution which is the world’s largest research and museum complex, the Tidal Basin featuring rows of Japanese cherry blossom trees, the National Post Museum and the National Zoo. Washington DC is also the national center for the arts and you can visit the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, the Marine Barracks housing the United States Marine Band founded in 1798 and the Arena Stage.
