Vollure

Conveniently located to serve the areas of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

As one ages, everyone experiences inevitable shifts in their appearance as a result of age, no matter what is done to avoid or slow the process. While the effects manifest all across the body, they are most often noticed in the face areas, usually in the form of age spots, wrinkles, deep lines, sagging or loose skin, and a general loss of volume in areas such as the cheeks, skin, and similar. Two areas that are of particular focus are the nose and mouth, where smile lines are more evident, as are lines around the nasal lobes and cheeks that can stretch all the way down to the jawline in more severe instances. Various surgical procedures have been designed to address these cosmetic concerns. However, some patients seek non-surgical options to achieve their desired results. One non-surgical option that is offered at our office is dermal fillers, more particularly, Vollure.

Vollure is an advanced dermal filler that has become increasingly popular due to its long-term anti-aging benefits. To learn more about this treatment, please contact Cosmetic Surgery Associates in Bethesda, Maryland today and schedule a consultation.

About Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are an always evolving cosmetic treatment are used to treat wrinkles, lines, skin laxity, and to restore lost volume throughout the face. Dermal fillers are comprised of safe and effective synthetic material that, when injected, restores volume and helps to reduce many of the unwanted signs of facial aging.

There are a variety of dermal fillers that can be used to treat different areas of the face, such as crows feet, forehead lines, and smile lines. There are even some fillers that are used to enhance the lips and cheeks, while others may be best employed in the chin or jaw areas.

Dermal fillers are typically combined with other facial regenerative procedures such as brow lifts and facelifts to create more dramatic and lasting results. Please contact our office or click here to learn about the other dermal fillers that we offer.

What is Vollure?

Vollure is a newly developed dermal filler created by Juvederm to address various signs of aging and to improve skin elasticity and firmness in the mid to lower face. It is based on a hyaluronic acid gel and is most effective when treating the nasolabial folds around the nose as well as around the mouth. It can help with restoring youthful appearances to the lower face and reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles within the skin. It is used primarily to smooth out mild to moderate lines and wrinkles. When injected, the gel also contains a mild numbing agent that reduces any discomfort during injections. This not only helps to promote patient comfort but also helps speed up recovery time.

Benefits

Most patients who look into Vollure cosmetic treatments are doing so to restore as much of a youthful appearance to their face as possible, both by rejuvenating the skin and reshaping the facial contours. Aside from enhancing the visual appeal, Vollure is able to offer a variety of other benefits that make it increasingly appealing among modern clinics.

Multiple Sessions

The nature of Vollure as a dermal filler makes it possible to have multiple, ongoing treatments in order to improve initial results and also maintain them for the long-term, delaying the onset of the appearance of age.

Minimal Recovery

As a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure, Vollure does not require the extensive recovery time, pain medication, and withdrawal from normal routines or physical activity that other treatments enforce. In fact, patients can return to their daily schedules immediately.

Minimal Pain

Patients may experience small amounts of pain or discomfort from the deep tissue injections, but few require any actual pain medication prescription. There is no scarring, and any level of bruising or sensitivity usually disappears within a few days.

Increased Confidence

Upon seeing the youth-restoring look Vollure gives patients, many enjoy greater confidence in their appearance and overall self-image, allowing them to enjoy themselves more in social settings and public interactions.

Healthier Skin

Vollure not only fills out areas of the face that have lost underlying tissue but also encourages the overlying skin to have a healthier, firmer look.

Good Candidates

Almost any healthy adult can be a good candidate for Vollure treatments. If you have mild to moderate lines and wrinkling around the mid to lower region of the face, Vollure can potentially address your skin’s rejuvenation needs and help to restore a more youthful aesthetic.

In the case that the signs of aging that you experience are too severe, Vollure may not be the best option to help you achieve your goals. During the initial consultation with your physician, he will be able to recommend the best alternative treatments for your particular needs.

The ideal candidate for Vollure injections are patients who are looking to restore volume loss throughout the face. These patients should not have any allergies to the ingredients within Vollure and should be in overall good health. We also ask that patients maintain realistic expectations for this treatment and understand that is it not a permanent correction to the signs of aging, but rather a routine treatment that can be used to maintain a more youthful aesthetic.

Treatment Process

Vollure sessions are relatively simple, quick, and require no downtime at all. Before undergoing injections, your physician will clean and prepare the target facial areas and mark them for injection. The amount of filler that will be used will vary from patient to patient depending on the areas of the face that require treatment. A benefit to the Vollure gel injections is that among its ingredients, it includes a mild numbing agent to help alleviate any discomfort during the injection process. Once complete, you will be able to leave our office immediately and routine to your daily schedules without skipping a beat.

Recovery

Recovery from Vollure injections is minimal and rapid. Since there is no surgery involved, there are no incisions and no lengthy healing stage. To help alleviate any immediate discomfort after the initial injections, a cold compress can be provided, although it is typically not needed. Otherwise, aside from mild swelling and possible bruising, patients can return to their daily lives immediately. It is recommended that you avoid direct exposure to the sun or strenuous activity for the next 24 hours to ensure the best results.

Results

Results should be maintained for up to 18 months before needing another session to restore them.

Results should be immediately visible following your Vollure injections. Because of the injections, the contours of the face will have already been adjusted. However, swelling in the treated areas may hide some of the results for the week or two following. The gel is naturally broken down by the body during this time, and simple touch-up treatments can keep you looking younger than ever for longer than you imagined.

Complementing Treatments

By having Vollure injections done alongside other cosmetic procedures—including surgeries—it is possible to enjoy more extensive results. For instance, undergoing a full facelift can help to tighten the skin around the face, reduce the look of lines and wrinkles, and attain an overall more youthful appearance. Also, brow lifts can enhance the upper portion of the face, alongside Botox® and facial fat transfers, all combining for a more youthful appearance, rolling back the years and eliminating unwanted wrinkles, folds, and lines on the upper region of the face.

Vollure treatments can be easily combined with various facial rejuvenation procedures to provide you with more comprehensive results. During the initial consultation, our physicians will be able to recommend the best treatment(s) for your needs.
