What Kind of Scars Will I Get from a Facelift?
During your facelift procedure, the surgeon makes incisions around your cheek area and the chin allowing him access to the fat and excessive skin. What Can I Expect During My Recovery?
The facelift surgical procedure is invasive, and you will be required to take time off from work to allow your body to heal. You may also be required to wear a compression garment initially during your recovery period, and you may also have drainage tubes covering your face and scalp. This avoids fluid collection or seroma and the compression garment keeps a check on any swelling from the surgery.
You will be given instructions for the recovery period and it is important that you follow these to heal well. You must keep your head in an elevated position for the first 2 weeks post-surgery. You will also be advised against any athletic activities or strenuous exercises for 30 days post-surgery. When you come for your follow-up appointments, our team will evaluate your recovery and healing and accordingly advise you on increasing your level of activity.
