Surgical Procedure

Recovery
Immediately after the tummy tuck procedure, the incision area will be wrapped in bandages, and drains may be placed to collect excess fluid. Mild pain and discomfort in the first week are expected, which can be managed with pain medications as prescribed by the surgeon.
Most patients will need rest and time off from work for about 10 to 14 days following tummy tuck surgery. Moderate walking may be advised during the early recovery period to aid healing, but vigorous exercises and heavy lifting of weights must be avoided for about a month.
